To date, I have received checks and pledges totaling $4, 287.00, including the $3,737.00 donated in person last week.
Final press release will be posted here in a week, if it seems that we are done collecting money for the New Horizons Women’s Center and Shelter.
Staff from New Horizons has said the money will go to food, heating bill, and other non-staff expenses.
We generated more than $3500.00 in contributions to the New Horizons Women’s Center and Shelter, right in time for Thanksgiving!
Thank you so much to all of the hundreds of thoughtful, generous people who helped, donated, volunteered, bought tickets, went shopping, and more.
We will be on the 10 pm Channel 8 news tonight and will send out a press release with the final donation count in the next two days. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Thank you so very much.

Here is how the Silent Auction will work at the Spa Day FUNdRAISEr:
All items {jewelry, art, Story Fest tickets} which are $100 or less in value will have an opening bid of $1… bidding closes at 3:00pm.
Item goes to highest bidder.
All items { date packages w/ certificates for a restaurant and dry cleaning and 2 seats at a play and coffee afterward, etc} which are $100 to $270 will have an opening bid of $5… bidding closes at 3:00pm.
Item goes to highest bidder.
All items { 3 month Family membership at the YMCA, 3 months of personal Training, etc. } which are $270 or more will have an opening bid of $20… bidding closes at 3:00pm.
Item goes to highest bidder.
In order to win a bid, you must be present at 3 pm. You can write a check to New Horizons or pay with cash.
Plus surprises throughout the day.
You can NOT afford to miss this fun!
We will be doubling our locations to allow for more participation.
Once you buy your ticket, in advance ($5) or at the door ($10) , you can go back and forth between the Orange Pearl Salon and the Violet Flame, across the street.
The Violet Flame will also host chair massage, 10 of the Silent Auction offerings, wine, and hor’s d’oeuvres.
They are located at 309 Pearl Street. Please allow our volunteers to stamp your hand, so you can move freely between the two locations.
We are adding some valuable demonstrations we believe everyone needs, at any time, but ESPECIALLY during the holidays.
Spa Day FUNdRAISEr donors Brian Wright and Anthony Dix are going to give a demonstration to any participants who want to learn how to unwind and relax or create energy when exhausted.
Brian will demonstrate Qigong from 1:00 to 1:30 in the upper loft of the Orange Pearl Salon. You can bid on his Astro Biology Consultation in the Silent Auction.
Anthony will demonstrate how to use stretching for stress relief from 2:00 to 2:30. You can bid on any three of his Coulee Regional Boot-camp Gift Certificates, each good for a season of group personal training for strength and weight loss.

Silent Auction items will mostly start at $5 and bidders can raise the bid in any increments they want. A few items valued at $100 or more will start at $10 and will need to be raised in a minimum of $5 or more.Top three most valuable items will begin at $20 each and bidders can raise the bid in any increments they want.
